NEW E-BUS PRESENTED!
The new Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen bus has been presented on August, 29 2019 at the Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Bolzano South.
12 buses of this type will arrive in South Tyrol by the end of 2020 where they will be operated by SASA. This important investment has been financed through the JIVE project (financed by FCH-JU, and co-financed by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano).
The peculiarity of this bus lays in its propulsion: it combines a fuel cell (and therefore hydrogen) with plug-in batteries; the result is a zero emission hybrid!
The bus will be operated in Bozen/Bolzano, but also in Meran/Merano, as - thanks to LIFEalps - a hydrogen refuelling station will be installed in the Meran/Merano bus depot.
The "Zero Emission Services for a Decarbonised Alpine Economy" project (short: LIFEalps) has received funding from the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
