Are you a municipality or public institution interested in learning more about the LIFEalps project and assessing its replicability in your region?
As part of the national and European dissemination and upscaling activities of the project, we have launched a dedicated pathway for public authorities to support them in the transition towards zero-emission regional mobility.
The first event in this process has been the kick-off meeting, which took place on 9
December 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at the NOI Techpark in Bolzano.
The meeting was held within the framework of the SSPCR Conference 2025, hosted by Eurac
Research, a partner in the LIFEalps project.
Event Presentation
The event, titled “Zero-Emission Regional Public Transport: Infrastructure and Fleets Planning and Implementation”, has been a moment of exchange and in-depth discussion on how public authorities can lead the decarbonisation of regional public transport through the planning and deployment of zero-emission fleets (electric and hydrogen-powered) and the necessary charging and refueling infrastructure.
Starting from the case study of South Tyrol and its Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility, the event has showcased examples of integrated planning, stakeholder coordination, and governance tools
supporting the transition.
It has also provided opportunities to discuss policy instruments, public procurement strategies, and collaborative models that can be replicated in other European regions, in line with the
climate goals set out in the South Tyrol Climate Plan 2040.
The meeting has included presentation and discussion sessions, with the possibility for participating public bodies to apply to develop their own replication plan inspired by the LIFEalps model. A study tour has also been organized to visit the hydrogen refuelling station SASA and the electric charging hubs of A22.
Duration: from 09:00 to 11:00 AM
Participants: max. 30
Format: conference and round table
